DIGESTIVE ENZYMES

DIGESTIVE ENZYMES
WHAT ARE THEY & WHAT DO THEY DO?

Enzymes act as catalysts.  Catalysts within the body have the unique ability to speed up chemical reactions by thousands, tens of thousands, or even millions of times faster than would take place on their own.  As you can imagine, without the proper digestive enzymes, the chemical reactions that we call, ‘digestion’ take place too slowly to get any benefit of the food.  It passes through the body before digestion can take place.  Where do Digestive Enzymes come from?  They come mainly from raw foods, and mainly from raw vegetables.  If you do not have proper amounts of biologically active digestive enzymes present when you eat a meal, it does not matter how nutritious the meal you are eating is.  Without the catalysts to make digestion happen, the food will not be broken down and little nutrition will be extracted.

Many people say that they have less pain when they take Digestive Enzymes.  Contrary to popular belief, this is not because the enzymes are ‘eating’ away at scar tissue.  It is because Digestive Enzymes prevent SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION by preventing LEAKY GUT SYNDROME.  Leaky Gut (Increased Intestinal Permeability) causes problems for people when undigested / partially digested particles of food are absorbed into the blood from the Gut.  This can be the catalyst for a whole host of Physical Problems that you can read about on ENDOGUT.
