The point to all of this is that the FCC is asking for public comments on a proposal that would allow much more profanity and nudity to come across the public airwaves. For those of you who do not watch TV at home, it may seem at first like this is not a big deal. However, there are some implications you may not have thought of. For one, it would mean that sitting in a waiting room, a restaurant, or any other public place that happens to have a TV going, could potentially mean that our children end up getting an eye full or ear full of things that we would not want them to see and / or hear – and we would have no control over it.
If you have the time, and are able to make sense of the FCC's ridiculously counter-intuitive website, you can visit it and leave comments on their proposal. There have been over 100,000 comments so far. Please spread the word about this via Facebook as well.
